Fredy Layman continued to make an impact for GB 16U Eubanks, helping his team secure an impressive 11–3 victory over Knights Knation Georgia 16U at Hammond School.
The game was put out of reach with a dominant six-run fifth inning, and Layman played a key role by ripping an RBI double that helped fuel the offensive explosion. His timely extra-base hit sparked the rally as GB 16U Eubanks capitalized on disciplined at-bats and aggressive baserunning to extend their lead.
GB 16U Eubanks took control early in the second inning. Bert Muller opened the scoring with an RBI double before Darrian Williams added a sacrifice bunt to drive in another run. Ben Cartin followed with an RBI single, and Caleb Sheaffer delivered a two-run single to give GB 16U Eubanks a comfortable advantage.
Although Knights Knation Georgia 16U responded with a solo home run from Tristan Varney in the fourth inning, GB 16U Eubanks answered immediately with their decisive fifth-inning rally. Along with Layman’s RBI double, Stephen Mixon, Darrian Williams, Ben Cartin, and Dylan Zeron each contributed runs, while another run scored on a defensive error.
On the mound, Bert Muller earned the win after throwing four strong innings, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out five batters. Darrian Williams provided solid relief to help close out the victory.
Offensively, Jackson Wallace led GB 16U Eubanks with two hits, while Williams, Sheaffer, and Cartin each recorded two RBIs. The team also demonstrated patience at the plate by drawing seven walks and played flawless defense without committing an error.
